Job summary

TLTP Education is seeking an experienced School Business Manager for a Northampton specialist school. You will oversee financial management, administration, procurement and operational systems to ensure smooth daily running.

Working largely on-site with some remote days, you will support safeguarding, GDPR compliance and contribute to strategic planning with a supportive senior leadership team.

Qualifications

• Experience as SBM / Business Manager or similar.
• Strong financial management and budgeting skills.
• Experience managing administrative and operational functions.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
• Understanding of safeguarding, health & safety, GDPR and compliance.
• Education or specialist SEND experience is desirable.
• Professional, proactive and collaborative attitude.

Responsibilities

• Oversee budgets, financial management, expenditure and reporting.
• Support Headteacher and senior leadership with financial planning.
• Manage procurement, contracts, suppliers and purchasing.
• Oversee school administration and operational systems.
• Support premises, facilities, health and safety and site matters.
• Support HR processes, including recruitment and payroll where appropriate.
• Ensure policies, procedures and statutory requirements are maintained.
• Maintain accurate financial and administrative records.
• Assist with audits, inspections and reporting requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and value for money.
• Contribute to strategic planning and wider school development.
