Job summary

Empowering Learning Ltd in Croydon is seeking a School Behaviour Assistant to support a small group of children with autism, assisting the class teacher and fellow Support staff. The role focuses on building trusting relationships to progress learning and carrying out tailored activities under the guidance of the SENDco.

You will work closely with teachers to implement strategies, supervise pupils inside and outside the classroom, and help prepare engaging lessons and resources.

Qualifications

• Eligibility to work in the UK or UK residency.
• Previous experience in a UK primary/secondary school, ideally within the last 12 months.
• A valid DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply for a new DBS.

• Supporting pupils in the classroom and on a 1:1 basis.

Empowering Learning is working in partnership with a School in the Borough of Croydon. The school is looking for a candidate to support a small group of children with autism, assisting the class teacher and one other Teaching Assistant.

An experienced Teaching Assistant will be confident in building rapport and trusting relationships in order to progress learning. This role involves working closely with class teachers and the SENDco to implement a tailored learning approach where required.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who have a passion for education and SEN. The school has an experienced team already in place and can provide additional training and development.

Previous Experience Advantageous If

• SEMH / PRU settings
• Youth Work
• Police or Army
• Sports coaches and mentors
• Graduates in Sport, Psychology, Drama and Counselling and Therapy
