Job summary

Empowering Learning Ltd in Oldham is seeking a dedicated Youth Worker to support pupils throughout the school day. You will help with personal, social and emotional development and work closely with teaching staff to create a calm, engaging classroom atmosphere.

This role offers a Monday–Friday pattern, 8:30am–3:30pm, with pay at £16.78 per hour. You will build trusting relationships, provide one-to-one or small-group support, and help pupils gain confidence and social skills while following

Qualifications

• Previous experience with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
• Patient, caring and approachable.
• Able to remain calm when managing different needs and situations.
• Confident working as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with their personal, social and emotional development.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Provide one-to-one or small-group support where required.
• Encourage pupils to engage positively with learning and school activities.
• Help pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
• Support pupils who may require additional emotional or behavioural support.
• Work alongside teaching staff to create a positive and engaging environment.
• Assist with classroom routines and general school activities.
• Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times.
