Job summary

Compass Community Schools is seeking an Occupational Therapist to shape and develop OT provision across our schools. You will work with the Education Team, SENCOs, OT Champions, SLTs and wider school staff to create sensory-informed, participation-focused environments where learners regulate, engage and develop independence.

You will provide practical guidance on environmental adaptations and therapeutic approaches, train colleagues, and help build OT knowledge across Compass Community Schools

Qualifications

• HCPC registered and RCOT member.
• Experience with children/young people with SEND and complex trauma.
• Confident managing a complex caseload and working independently.
• Comfortable in a wider multidisciplinary team.
• Experience in providing consultation, advice and training to education or care teams.
• Able to communicate recommendations in a practical, accessible way.
• Passionate about sensory-informed, trauma-informed and participation-focused practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical advice on environmental adaptations, equipment and therapeutic approaches.
• Support the development of Occupational Therapy Champions to build sustainable OT knowledge.
• Collaborate with SENCOs, therapists and school teams to shape OT provision across Compass Community Schools.
