Manchester Enterprise Academy (MEA) is seeking an Attendance Officer to improve attendance and engagement across the school. You will work with pupils, families, school leaders and external agencies to remove barriers to attendance and ensure every child can access a high-quality education.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people and families in education, social care or community settings.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection and relevant legislation.
• Confident in managing complex cases and making balanced decisions.
• Resilient, organised and able to work calmly under pressure.
• Skilled in building positive relationships with pupils, parents, staff and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Implement and support school attendance policies and procedures with staff.
• Manage a caseload of attendance cases and prepare evidence for legal action when required.
• Track, analyse and report attendance data to inform interventions.
• Collaborate with leadership, teaching staff and external agencies on attendance initiatives.
• Coordinate home visits, including lone and joint visits with partner agencies.
• Support monitoring of attendance parenting orders and post-prosecution work.
• Deliver training to staff, governors and stakeholders on attendance regulations.
• Conduct meetings and interviews in line with safeguarding procedures.
• Liaise with staff to ensure suitable learning provision for pupils facing barriers to attendance.
• Promote equality, inclusion and accessibility in service delivery.
• Maintain high health and safety standards and engage in professional development.
