Job summary

Manchester Enterprise Academy is looking for an Attendance Officer to improve attendance and engagement across the school. The role involves working with pupils, families, school leaders and external agencies to remove barriers to attendance and ensure access to education.

The post is permanent, 35 hours per week (full time), term time plus three weeks (41 weeks per annum). Salary starts at £29,969 and ranges to £36,363, Grade 6, with a start date of 9 November 2026 after pre-employment checks.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children, young people and families within education, social care or community settings.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection and relevant legislation.
• Confident in managing complex cases and making balanced decisions.

Responsibilities

• Implement and support attendance policies and procedures, ensuring staff understand impact on pupils and families.
• Manage a caseload of attendance cases with accurate documentation and evidence for actions.
• Track, analyse and report attendance data to inform interventions and planning.
• Coordinate and undertake home visits with partner agencies such as Police, Health and Social Care.
• Deliver training to staff and stakeholders on attendance regulations and best practice.
