Job summary

Gooseacre Primary Academy is seeking an Attendance Officer to monitor pupil attendance and punctuality across the academy, with a focus on reducing persistent absence and supporting safeguarding through timely interventions.

Working with pupils, families and colleagues, you will maintain accurate attendance records, generate reports for leaders, and promote consistent attendance to help every child achieve their best.

Qualifications

• Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Confidence managing and analysing attendance data and records.
• Outstanding communication skills with families.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead on day-to-day monitoring of pupil attendance and punctuality across the academy.
• Improve attendance levels and reduce persistent absence.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and ensure registers are up to date.
• Provide reports to school leaders and attend attendance review meetings.
