Job summary

Bishop Vesey's Grammar School in Sutton Coldfield is seeking a dedicated Whole School Attendance Officer on a fixed-term maternity cover. The role is term-time only, 36.5 hours per week, within the Coast and Vale Learning Trust, to monitor attendance, liaise with families, and support safeguarding compliance.

You will analyse attendance data, coordinate interventions with teachers and external agencies, and maintain records for leadership reporting.

Qualifications

• A strong understanding of attendance regulations and safeguarding policies.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
• Experience working in a school or similar environment.
• Confidence in using IT systems and software for data management and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse attendance records across the school to identify patterns and areas for improvement.
• Work with students and families to address barriers to attendance, offering support and guidance.
• Liaise with teachers, senior leaders, and external agencies to ensure effective attendance interventions.
• Maintain accurate records and produce regular attendance reports for school leadership.
