Job summary

Cambridge University Press & Assessment is seeking a School Approval Assistant Manager in Cambridge, operating in a hybrid, full-time role. You will work with the School Approval Team to onboard schools and manage the customer lifecycle across global regions.

You will line-manage 2-3 Officers, ensure Cambridge standards for examinations, handle data and access, and collaborate with regional teams worldwide. Strong IT, data, and stakeholder communication are essential.

Job Title: School Approval Assistant Manager

Salary: £29,700 - £38,550

Location: Cambridge, UK – Hybrid

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time - 35 hours per week

About the role

As our next School Approval Assistant Manager, you will work with the School Approval Team where we work closely with our schools throughout their onboarding and customer lifecycle, alongside our regional offices based around the world.

In this role, you will:

  • Ensure only customers who meet Cambridge standards are approved to deliver Cambridge Examinations and programmes.
  • Line manage and contribute to the development of 2-3 School Approval Officers.
  • Demonstrate your ability to reprioritise quickly to meet changing business demands, you will be responsible for management, decision making and coordination of customer approval processes, data maintenance and access management for external systems.
  • Work in a constantly evolving environment, where you will bring a readiness to embrace change and consider the potential impact on our customers.
  • Oversee the calculation, raising, crediting and investigation of financial disputes relating to customer invoices.

Additional responsibilities and accountabilities include:

  • Review existing processes, suggest and implement process improvements.
  • Learn and embrace new technology and tools and encourage your team to do the same.
  • Network and build positive relationships with regional teams based globally.

This position has been classified as a hybrid role, requiring the selected candidate to typically spend 40-60% of their time collaborating and connecting face-to-face at their dedicated location. Aside from our hybrid principles, other flexible working requests will be considered from the first day of employment, including other work arrangements should you require adjustments due to a disability or long-term health condition.

About You

You will be educated to degree level or be able to demonstrate equivalent professional experience, with strong IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Confident working with data, you have excellent attention to detail and take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work. You are able to manage competing priorities and maintain a high standard of work in fast-paced or pressured environments. With strong written and verbal communication skills, you can build effective relationships and communicate clearly with a range of stakeholders. Experience using systems such such as EPS (Organisations) and Salesforce CRM would be advantageous, as would knowledge of Cambridge International products and services.
