Job summary

Lancashire County Council is seeking an experienced educational leader to join the Secondary and Special School Improvement Team as a School Adviser. The role focuses on school improvement, SEND and inclusion, working with school leaders, governors and partners to improve outcomes.

You will provide high-quality support, challenge and monitoring to schools, contributing to statutory responsibilities and regional/national collaboration. Hybrid working is available.

• Proven track record in leading school improvement initiatives.
• Experience in SEND and inclusive education.
• Ability to provide high-quality challenge and monitoring to schools.

Responsibilities

• Delivering school improvement support, challenge and monitoring across secondary and special schools.
• Leading SEND audits, inclusion reviews and school evaluation activities.
• Analyzing performance, attendance, inclusion and SEND information to guide decisions.
• Delivering professional development, consultancy and training for school leaders, staff and governors.
• Representing the Local Authority in various forums as needed.
• Coordinate improvement activities and broker support for schools in difficulty.
