School Administrator - Temporary Ongoing - Whitley Bay

In this varied role, you'll provide vital administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the school, acting as a key point of contact for pupils, parents, staff, and visitors while delivering a professional and welcoming experience.
Position Details
- Job Title: School Administrator
- Location: Whitley Bay
- Contract Type: Temporary Ongoing, term time only.
- Start Date: ASAP
- Pay Rate: 14.00 per hour (depending on experience)
- Flexible full-time or part-time opportunities available.
Part-time: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 1:00pm
Full-time: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm
Term Time Only
An Enhanced DBS certificate is essential for this role and must either be current on the DBS Update Service or candidates must be willing to undergo a new Enhanced DBS check prior to commencement.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include:
- Providing a professional and friendly reception service, welcoming visitors and managing sign-in procedures.
- Handling incoming calls, emails, and general enquiries, ensuring they are dealt with promptly and efficiently.
- Supporting the wider school team with a range of administrative tasks and office duties.
- Maintaining accurate pupil, staff, and school records using internal systems and databases.
- Utilising Arbor confidently to update information, manage records, and support school administration processes.
- Assisting with correspondence, filing, data entry, and document preparation.
- Coordinating a variety of administrative activities while effectively prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines.
- Ensuring confidentiality is maintained when handling sensitive information.
- Delivering a high standard of customer service to students, parents, staff, and external stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience using Arbor is essential
- Previous administration experience, ideally within a school or educational setting.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- A professional, flexible, and positive approach to work.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A current Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service is highly desirable.
