Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon seeks a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join our Scenic Workshops. You will fabricate, weld and finish steelwork, interpret CAD drawings and contribute to mechanical elements of scenery construction and automated systems for live productions.
The role is full-time and permanent, averaging 44 hours per week with occasional evenings and weekends during production.
Are you an experienced multi-process welder with strong fabrication skills? Can you interpret detailed CAD drawings and technical plans? Do you have experience of mechanical construction and an interest in theatre production or automation systems?
We are looking for a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join the team at our Scenic Workshops in Stratford-upon-Avon, where sets and props for our productions come to life. In this role you will help deliver innovative, high-quality and sustainable stage scenery used across RSC productions.
You will undertake a wide variety of fabrication projects, supporting designers' visions through expert engineering and construction. Alongside welding and fabrication work, you will contribute to the mechanical elements of scenery construction and support the integration of automated scenic systems. This role also involves supporting fit-ups, installations and modifications across RSC productions and venues, requiring a flexible and collaborative approach to working within a live theatre environment.

This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Scenic Workshops in Stratford-upon-Avon. You will work an annualised hours contract based on an average of 44 hours per week, with flexibility required during production periods, including occasional evening and weekend working.
