Job summary

Pontoon is seeking a skilled Scala Developer on a 12-month contract in the London area, with hybrid on-site work in Bromley three days a week. The role focuses on building and supporting enterprise data pipelines and OpenShift-based solutions for a financial services client.

You will leverage Scala, Spark, and modern data engineering practices to develop scalable, secure, and performant data processing systems, contributing to critical digital initiatives and AI-enabled programs.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Scala development in enterprise settings.
• Hands-on with OpenShift and Apache Spark for data pipelines.
• Familiar with ETL/ELT concepts and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support enterprise data pipelines and OpenShift-based solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cloud-native results.
• Enhance platform performance and support transformation initiatives.
• Apply containerisation, CI/CD, and cloud-native development best practices.
• Work with Git and Agile methodologies, participating in stand-ups.
