Job summary

ITS Group is seeking a Scaffold Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management of scaffolding packages across diverse construction projects in the South East. You will work closely with contracts managers, operations and subcontractors to control costs and optimise project profitability.

The ideal candidate has scaffolding QS experience, strong contract knowledge, budgeting and negotiation skills, and is comfortable managing multiple accounts and deadlines on site visits as required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the scaffolding industry.
• Understanding of scaffolding operations: erection, dismantling, hire.
• Experience managing commercial accounts in specialist subcontractor environment.
• Knowledge of construction contracts, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Experience preparing budgets, forecasts and commercial reports.
• Strong knowledge of subcontract procurement and commercial negotiation.
• Ability to identify commercial risks and opportunities and take appropriate action.
• Excellent numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with clients and contractors.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Proactive and commercially driven with ownership of project accounts.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and relevant software.
• Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent is advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence would be beneficial for site visits.

Responsibilities

• Managing the commercial aspects of scaffolding contracts across a portfolio of construction projects.
• Taking responsibility for project costs, budgets, forecasts and overall commercial performance.
• Preparing and submitting monthly valuations, applications for payment and supporting documentation.
• Managing subcontractor accounts, payments and commercial agreements where applicable.
• Identifying, pricing and negotiating variations and changes to project scope.
• Monitoring scaffold installation, alteration, dismantling and hire periods to ensure values are accurate.
• Ensuring additional hire and changes are commercially recovered.
• Preparing, negotiating and agreeing final accounts with clients and contractors.
• Reviewing contract documentation and identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
• Monitoring project expenditure against budgets and identifying margin improvements.
