Job summary

Scottish Power is seeking a SCADA Engineer for a hybrid role based in Glasgow. The contract runs until 2027 with potential extension, delivering the complete SCADA and communications infrastructure within the offshore renewables project.

You will review supplier SCADA/telecom documents, manage requirements, and create test schedules and reports while coordinating with suppliers to ensure alignment with the project programme. Offshore work may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Control/Computing (Engineering) or equivalent.
• Experience with SCADA systems and IEC 60870-5-104, Modbus, OPC protocols.
• Knowledge of industrial networks and SCADA databases.
• Offshore tickets/certificates are likely required.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing SCADA and telecommunications documents from suppliers (i.e. WTG, Substation Control Systems, Auxilliary Systems).
• Reviewing internal project documentation with SCADA & telecommunications requirements.
• Creating, maintaining and updating documents such as test schedules and reports.
• Management of suppliers and contractors to ensure SCADA and telecommunications programme and technical delivery is aligned with overall project programme and Employer's Requirements.
• Attending factory acceptance tests, interoperability tests, site acceptance tests, onshore commissioning and offshore commissioning.

The position involves all activities related to the delivery of the complete SCADA and communications infrastructure within the scope of the offshore renewables project.

Expectations

• Reviewing SCADA and telecommunication documents from suppliers (i.e. WTG, Substation Control Systems, Auxilliary Systems)
• Reviewing internal project documentation with SCADA & telecommunications requirements
• Managing project SCADA and telecommunication requirementsCreating, maintaining and updating documents such as test schedules and reports
• Management of suppliers and contractors to ensure SCADA and telecommunications programme and technical delivery is aligned with overall project programme and Employer's Requirements

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical/Control/Computing (Engineering) or equivalent.
• Experience of SCADA systems and industry standard data exchange protocols such as IEC 60807-5-104 / Modbus /OPC is essential experience of these protocols within windfarm systems is desired.
• Knowledge of industrial network and database applications related to SCADA is essential.
• Short periods of Offshore working will likely be required so relevant offshore tickets/certificates are required.
