Job summary

Biffa Waste Services in Rotherham is seeking a Control Room Operator to monitor and control the MBT Plant. You will operate SCADA systems, manage crane movements, and ensure health, safety and environmental compliance while contributing to productivity and sub-products quality.

The role requires delivering KPI targets, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and liaising with Engineering to prioritise incidents.

Qualifications

• Experience with SCADA systems in a process plant environment.
• Proven track record of meeting defined KPIs.
• Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor all MBT control systems.
• Optimise crane movements and Refinement throughput.
• Diagnose operating problems and take corrective action.
• Coordinate with Engineering to prioritise critical incidents.
• Carry out site fly treatments and review fly monitoring data.
• Stock control and reporting of contract & non-contract waste.
• Provide accurate records of plant operations, settings and stoppages.
• Log crane data and downtime to produce weekly Pareto.
• Maintain safe operations of the site.
• Monitor fires, alarms and faults on the site fire system.
• Work towards daily, weekly and monthly KPI targets.
• Adhere to health, safety and environmental legislation and company policies.
• Provide light maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
• Deputise for MBT supervisor as required.
• Become a site SAP with responsibilities for isolations and permits.
