Job summary

Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd invites a Data Test Analyst to validate data integrity during migration of SAS estate to SAS Viya 4 on DPS AWS. You will verify migrated data, ETL processes, and analytics outputs, ensuring alignment with business requirements and security standards.

The role requires expertise in SAS environments, SQL data comparisons, and test automation within an Agile framework. Hybrid work in the UK is possible with a contract running until 30 May 2027.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed test plans and test cases for data migration and validation.
• Define acceptance criteria for migrated datasets and workflows.
• Perform data reconciliation between SAS environments (9.4 and Viya 4).
• Validate ETL processes, data pipelines and reporting outputs for accuracy and completeness.
• Implement automated data validation scripts using SQL, Python or SAS; integrate into CI/CD.
• Log, track and manage defects related to data issues.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and developers to resolve issues promptly.
• Ensure testing activities comply with GDPR and governance standards.
• Support UAT and provide evidence for sign-off.

Role Title: Data Test Analyst Duration: contract to run until 30/05/2027 Location: Telford.

Hybrid Rate: up to £414 p/d Umbrella inside IR35 Clearance required: Active SC Clearance is essential Role purpose / summary To validate data integrity, accuracy, and functionality during the migration of the client's SAS estate (including SAS
9.4 and Viya
3.5 components) to SAS Viya 4 on DPS AWS. The Data Test Analyst ensures that migrated data and processes meet business requirements and comply with the client's standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Test Planning & Design: Develop detailed test plans and cases for data migration, transformation, and validation.
• Define acceptance criteria for migrated datasets and analytical workflows.
• Data Validation: Perform data reconciliation between SAS
  9.4 and SAS Viya 4 environments.
• Validate ETL processes, data pipelines, and reporting outputs for accuracy and completeness.
• Automation & Tools: Implement automated data validation scripts using SQL, Python, or SAS. Support integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Defect Management: Log, track, and manage defects related to data inconsistencies or migration issues.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and developers to resolve issues promptly.
• Compliance & Governance: Ensure all testing activities adhere to the client's security, GDPR, and data governance standards.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Business Analysts, Test Manager, and migration teams to align testing with requirements.
• Support UAT and provide evidence for sign-off.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in: Data testing and validation for large-scale migrations.
• Writing and executing SQL queries for data comparison and profiling.
• Knowledge of: SAS technologies (SAS
  9.4, SAS Viya
  3.x/4). ETL processes and data integration frameworks.
• Familiarity with: Test automation tools and scripting (Python, SAS). Agile delivery and defect management tools (Jira, Confluence).
• Desirable Qualifications: ISTQB Foundation or Advanced Test Analyst certification.
• Experience in government or regulated environments.
• Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS) and containerized deployments.
