Job summary

VIQU Limited in Leeds is seeking a SC Cleared Performance Tester to join our hybrid team. You will design and run performance, load, and stress tests using tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, and Gatling, ensuring compliance with Inside IR35 and security requirements.

You will monitor systems with Grafana and Splunk, diagnose issues with New Relic and Dynatrace, and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines to improve cloud, hybrid, and on‑prem environments.

Qualifications

• Design, execute, and analyse performance, load, stress, and volume tests.
• Familiar with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana and Splunk, and diagnostics platforms like New Relic and Dynatrace.
• Understand containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and big data platforms (Databricks).
• Analyze complex performance issues and provide actionable recommendations.
• Strong scripting skills (Python, JavaScript) for test automation and data analysis.
• Knowledge of Performance Test Strategy and non-functional requirements.
• Experience in performance testing of cloud-based architectures (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Proficient with performance testing methodologies and tools (JMeter, LoadRunner, Eggplant, Gatling).

Summary

You'll design and run performance, load, and stress tests using tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling, ensuring they meet strategy and non-functional requirements. You'll collaborate with technical teams to troubleshoot issues, monitor systems with Grafana and Splunk, and use diagnostics tools such as New Relic and Dynatrace. Integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines and driving improvements to ensure robust, scalable systems across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.

Within the role of Performance Tester you will enhance and shape the scalability and reliability - creating strategies and solutions in cloud and container based environments, leveraging observability tools and diagnostics to optimise application performance.

Essential Criteria

• Ability to design, execute, and analyse performance, load, stress, and volume tests.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Splunk) and diagnostics platforms (New Relic, Dynatrace).
• Understanding of containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and big data platforms (Databricks).

• Knowledge of middleware systems (Kafka, IBM MQ).
• Experience with ELK stack and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau).

• Familiarity with security and compliance considerations in performance testing.
• Experience integrating performance testing into CI/CD pipelines.
