Searchability in the United Kingdom is seeking a Python Engineer / Data Engineer with SC clearance to join a public sector consultancy in Manchester on a permanent, hybrid basis.

The role focuses on developing Python-based applications, building data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes, and leveraging cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) with Git, CI/CD and Terraform IaC. Active SC clearance is required to start.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Python development experience.
• Experience with cloud platforms AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Version control with Git.
• Understanding of CI/CD and modern software delivery.
• Business experience with SQL.
• Data engineering: ETL/ELT and data pipelines.
• Testing: unit, integration and data quality testing.
• IaC tooling such as Terraform.
• SC Clearance: active clearance to start.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python-based applications and data solutions.
• Build and support data pipelines, ETL/ELT and data transformation processes.
• Work with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Apply software engineering practices including Git, testing and CI/CD.
• Support cloud infrastructure and automation using Terraform / IaC.
• Work with databases and SQL.
• Support data quality, cleansing and standardisation.
• Collaborate with engineers, data specialists and client stakeholders.
• Work within Agile, multidisciplinary engineering teams.
