Job summary

IDPP in Reading is seeking a Product Safety Digital Engineering Expert to support safety-critical programmes with digital engineering tools and MBSE integration.

The role requires strong product and system safety engineering background, experience with safety analysis tools such as Ansys MediniAnalyze, and SC security clearance. The position is a hybrid contract opportunity offering day-rate of £450 outside IR35.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Product Safety or Safety Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of safety engineering principles and MBSE.
• Experience with Ansys Medini Analyze or equivalent tools.
• Understanding of safety analysis techniques and requirements management.
• Degree in Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering or related discipline.
• Must hold valid SC Security Clearance (sole British passport).

• Define digital workflows to support safety analyses and evidence.

Product Safety Digital Engineering Expert- SC CLEARANCE ESSENTIAL

Location: Reading - Hybrid

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Product Safety Digital Engineering Expert to support the development and implementation of digital engineering solutions across complex, safety-critical engineering programmes.

You will combine strong Product and System Safety Engineering expertise with knowledge of digital engineering tools and processes, helping translate safety requirements into effective digital workflows, data models and integrated engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Capture and analyse Product Safety engineering requirements and translate them into digital solutions.

• Define digital workflows to support safety analysis, safety requirements and safety evidence.

• Support the design and implementation of safety engineering tools, including Ansys medini analyze or equivalent platforms.

• Establish traceability between safety analyses, requirements, system models and verification activities.

• Support integration with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Requirements Management and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environments.

• Develop proofs of concept and pilot solutions for Digital Safety Engineering.

• Collaborate with Safety and Engineering stakeholders to validate and implement digital solutions.

• Contribute to digital engineering standards, processes and governance for Product Safety.

Essential Skills and Experience

• 8+ years of experience in Product Safety, System Safety or Safety Engineering.

• Strong knowledge of Product and System Safety Engineering principles and practices.

• Practical experience using Ansys medini analyze or equivalent safety analysis tools.

• Knowledge of safety analysis techniques and safety requirements management.

• Understanding of Systems Engineering principles and engineering life cycle processes.

• Ability to translate engineering requirements into digital solutions and workflows.

• Experience working on complex, safety-critical engineering programmes.

• A degree in Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related discipline.

• Valid SC Security Clearance, Due to security requirements you must be a sole British passport holder you must not hold duel nationality.

Desirable Skills and Experience
