Qualifications

• Active SC clearance and eligibility to work in secure environments.
• Extensive Oracle Apps DBA experience in enterprise environments.

• Experience with EBS including concurrent managers, cloning and patching.
• Knowledge of RMAN, Data Guard, RAC and ASM.
• Experience with Linux/Unix and shell scripting.

• Excellent communication and documentation in security-sensitive settings.

Responsibilities

• Administer Oracle databases and Applications across development to production.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced SC Cleared Oracle Applications DBA to support and maintain critical Oracle applications and database environments within a secure enterprise setting. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex technical infrastructure, ensuring the availability, performance, security and resilience of Oracle systems while supporting ongoing maintenance, upgrades and operational improvements in a security-sensitive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain and support Oracle databases and Oracle Applications environments across development, test, pre-production and production.
• Monitor and optimise database performance, investigating issues relating to SQL execution, resource utilisation, database availability and application performance.
• Manage Oracle database installations, patching, upgrades, configuration changes and routine maintenance activities.
• Support Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) environments, including application tier administration, concurrent processing, cloning and patching, where applicable.
• Manage database backup, recovery, disaster recovery and business continuity procedures to ensure system resilience and data integrity.
• Troubleshoot complex database and application issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
• Implement and maintain database security, access controls and compliance with organisational policies and secure-environment requirements.
• Support environment refreshes, migrations, release deployments and change management activities in accordance with established procedures.
• Work closely with infrastructure, application support, security and development teams to resolve incidents and deliver technical improvements.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures and incident records in line with service management standards.

Skills Required

• Active SC clearance and eligibility to work within secure government or public sector environments.
• Strong experience as an Oracle Applications DBA, supporting enterprise Oracle database and application environments.
• Strong Oracle Database administration experience, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup, recovery and troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), ideally covering application tier administration, concurrent managers, cloning and patching.
• Knowledge of Oracle database security, user and privilege management, auditing and secure configuration practices.
• Experience with Oracle database upgrades, patching, environment refreshes, migrations and production support.
• Familiarity with Oracle technologies such as RMAN, Data Guard, RAC and ASM, where applicable.
• Experience supporting Linux or Unix environments and scripting with Shell or Bash.
• Strong incident management, problem-solving and root cause analysis skills, with experience working within ITIL-based support environments.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to operate effectively in controlled and security-sensitive environments.
