Job summary

Synergize Consulting is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect with a focus on Software Engineering and Digital Engineering to support a major UK defence programme.

You will shape the Software Factory, lead architecture across software engineering, systems, data and technology, and collaborate with Product Owners, Delivery Managers, engineers and Defence Prime stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable solutions including Digital Twin and Digital Thread capabilities.

Qualifications

• Active SC clearance – mandatory; DV clearance advantageous.
• 5+ years in Enterprise, Solution or Business Architecture.
• Experience architecting software engineering/development environments.
• Strong knowledge of Digital Engineering principles.
• Familiarity with Digital Thread and Digital Twin concepts.
• Experience with TOGAF/ArchiMate and cloud architectures.
• Stakeholder collaboration across engineering, architecture, delivery and product teams.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and DevSecOps environments.

Responsibilities

• Own and develop the Software Engineering architecture within the wider Digital Engineering environment.
• Produce and maintain HLD/LLD designs.
• Architect modern software development / Software Factory environments.
• Integrate architecture across people, process and technology.
• Support Digital Twin and Digital Thread capabilities across the lifecycle.
• Provide architectural leadership across software engineering, systems, data and technology.
• Ensure solutions meet Secure by Design, governance, security and compliance.
• Translate EA principles into practical designs, standards and roadmaps.
• Identify opportunities for architectural reuse across Digital Engineering value streams.
• Support technology evaluations, proofs of concept and platform/tool selection.
• Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers and Defence Prime stakeholders.
• Support RFIs/RFQs and wider technical decision-making.
• Drive innovation and adoption of emerging engineering technologies.
