Job summary

Sanderson Government & Defence is looking for a Database Administrator (SC cleared) to safeguard the performance, integrity, and security of our databases. The role is based in Telford with two days per week in the office and a six-month duration.

You will install, monitor, and secure DBMS, back up data, and work with IT teams to design robust database solutions. Prior DBMS experience and SC clearance are essential for this position.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or equivalent DBMS.
• Strong knowledge of security, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS) software.
