Job summary

Tradestech Recruitment is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager (SC Cleared) for a permanent role at Devonport Dockyard. The position requires active SC clearance and offers leadership over all commercial aspects of a major project in a secure environment.

Strong preference for candidates with active clearance and proven experience in major infrastructure, civil engineering or defence sectors. Expect mobilisation timelines influenced by clearance processing, with a typical 12–14 week

Qualifications

• Active SC clearance mandatory
• Proven experience as Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor
• Experience in major infrastructure, civil engineering or defence

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all commercial aspects of the project from delivery through to completion.
• Administer contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Monitor project costs, budgets and forecasts to ensure cost control.
• Identify, assess and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
• Oversee subcontractor procurement, administration and commercial performance.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key commercial interface.
• Support commercial reporting, valuations, change management and final accounts.
• Collaborate with project teams to drive commercial performance and successful project outcomes.
