Job summary

Northrop Grumman UK is seeking an AI Product Engineer in Cheltenham to design, build, and maintain AI-enabled software that supports operational missions. You will work with users and stakeholders to translate requirements into valuable product features and contribute to roadmaps and engineering standards.

The role requires experience with AI technologies, modern software practices, and strong communication skills; flexibility for hybrid work and travel up to 10% may apply.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, developing or supporting software products or applications.
• Knowledge of modern software engineering practices, including testing, version control and continuous integration.
• Experience or strong interest in AI technologies, machine learning, LLMs, RAG solutions or intelligent automation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain AI-enabled software products that support operational mission outcomes.
• Develop capabilities using LLMs, RAG architectures, agentic workflows and other emerging AI technologies.
• Work directly with users and stakeholders to understand challenges and translate requirements into valuable product features.
• Contribute to product roadmaps, software architecture decisions and engineering standards.
• Implement robust engineering practices including testing, CI/CD pipelines, observability and supportability.
• Support technical demonstrations, stakeholder engagement activities, innovation initiatives and recruitment efforts.
