Job summary

Northrop Grumman UK is seeking an AI Product Engineer in Cheltenham to design and deliver AI-enabled software products that support mission outcomes. You will work with engineers, users and stakeholders to translate requirements into features and contribute to roadmaps and architecture decisions.

The role focuses on modern AI tech, including LLMs, RAG, and agentic workflows, with opportunities to shape the new AI product engineering capability within the UK unit.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, developing or supporting software products or applications.
• Knowledge of modern software engineering practices, including testing, version control and continuous integration.
• Experience or strong interest in AI technologies, ML, LLMs, RAG solutions or intelligent automation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work through complex technical challenges.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and within collaborative multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain AI-enabled software products that support operational mission outcomes.
• Develop capabilities using LLMs, RAG architectures, agentic workflows and other emerging AI technologies.
• Work directly with users and stakeholders to understand challenges and translate requirements into valuable product features.
• Contribute to product roadmaps, software architecture decisions and engineering standards.
• Implement robust engineering practices including testing, CI/CD pipelines, observability and supportability.
• Support technical demonstrations, stakeholder engagement activities, innovation initiatives and recruitment efforts.
