Job summary

Scott Timber Ltd's Needham site is seeking a dedicated Saw Operative to join the Manufacturing team. You will operate saws and planers, reading work orders to ensure timber is cut to exact specifications and quality standards.

You will be part of a dynamic on-site team, maintaining high health and safety standards, reporting equipment faults promptly, and working with Supervisors to meet production targets. A good time-keeping and attention to detail are essential.

Job description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Saw Operative to join our Manufacturing team at our Needham site.

This role will beresponsible for operating saws and planers within the saw shop, following detailed work orders to ensure all timber is cut and prepared to correct specifications.

Responsible for ensuring that you have all necessary information required regarding quality standards and output levels, to enable you to carry out your role correctly and accurately. You will also need to promptly identify and report any problems with equipment and machinery to your line manager.

You will play a key part in a dynamic team to undertake all tasks that are delegated to you by the Supervisors and Managers on site and always adhere to our Health and Safety Procedures and Policies to maintain the required high safety standards, which includes wearing your Personal Protective Equipment when stipulated.

As a Saw Operative, you will work effectively with others, have excellent time keeping and attendance record and demonstrate a high level of Health and Safety awareness. A can-do attitude, good written and numerical skills, and great attention to detail are key to success.
