Job summary

BSW Timber is recruiting a Production Operator to join our Corpach, Fort William site. You will work with timber and operate sawmilling equipment, aiming to meet production targets safely and to specification.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to undertake all relevant training required to fulfil the role.
• Experience within a manufacturing, or similar production environment, would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given.

Due to our continued and exciting growth, we are looking to recruit a Production Operator to join our workforce across the BSW Timber site in Corpach, Fort William.

Some responsibilities of a Production Operator may include:

As a Production Operative, you’ll enjoy a variety of duties ranging from manual handling of timber to operating state of art sawmilling machinery. Working towards set production targets, whatever duty you’re assigned we’ll expect you to contribute to the creation of quality timber products – on time and to specification – whilst following appropriate health & safety practices.

• Upholding the appropriate Health & Safety practices across the site.
• Operating mobile plant machinery.

About you:

Ideally, we’re seeking a motivated individual who is quality focused and understands the value of the goods they are producing. A degree of flexibility will be required to ensure operations are maximised, maintained, and quality targets are met with minimum wastage. You will be self-motivated, have a can-do attitude and be willing to undertake all relevant training required to fulfil the role.

In addition, you will have:
