Job summary

Babcock is recruiting for a Land Terminals Maintenance Engineer in Hawthorn, Corsham, Wiltshire. The role focuses on maintaining remote satellite land terminals supporting critical defence and security operations, with on-site responsibilities and flexible working patterns.

You will diagnose faults across electrical, mechanical and software domains, perform electrical safety testing, and repair RF equipment, software and baseband systems while engaging with customers as a technical ambassador.

Qualifications

• Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools and test equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficient in diagnostics and reporting software.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and inspection of Small Remote Satellite land terminals.
• Conduct Electrical Safety Inspections and Testing I.A.W Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.
• Test and repair RF equipment and systems and perform software and baseband system testing and repairs.
• Undertake general equipment repairs across the site.
• Respond promptly to service calls and resolve issues within agreed SLAs to deliver on-site technical support and troubleshooting for customer-reported issues.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through professional service delivery, whilst acting as a technical ambassador for the organisation during site visits and support calls.
