Satellite AIT Electrical Systems Engineer

Job Overview

The role involves preparing test procedures, writing and debugging test sequences for satellite system testing during ambient and environmental test campaigns. Responsibilities include executing complex test sequences on flight spacecraft and test benches, providing support to the test operations team, and participating in non-conformance reviews. The engineer will also write test reports and support test reviews.

Key Responsibilities

1. Interpret electrical and functional test requirements from specifications.
2. Develop test solutions, from planning to execution, including code debugging.
3. Support test operations during anomalies.
4. Complete tests with reviews and reports.
5. Contribute to project test reviews.
6. Develop and debug Automatic Test Procedures using high-level languages like Elisa and JAVA.
7. Conduct spacecraft system investigations and support environmental tests.
8. Adhere to company and departmental procedures.

Skills and Experience

• Experience in writing test sequences/scripts for spacecraft tests, knowledge of Elisa and JAVA is advantageous.
• Familiarity with TMTC Databases.
• Knowledge of spacecraft systems such as Data Handling, Spacewire, Attitude & Orbital Control, Power Systems, and others.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Linux/Unix bash, C, Python, TCL, VBA).
• Experience with electrical measurement tools.
• Knowledge of electrical/harness aspects (desirable).
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux OS.
• Understanding of 'cleanroom' disciplines and system testing & verification.
• Willingness to support shifts and flexible working.

Minimum Education & Security Clearance

Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience. Must hold SC security clearance and be a UK National prior to starting.
