SAP Technical Architect

We need a candidate with a strong technical understanding of SAP architecture and an enterprise-wide perspective on all relevant areas for a complex SAP program.

Responsibilities

1. Define, design, and deliver SAP architectural designs.
2. Develop comprehensive solutions, including high-level designs (e.g., whiteboarding), statements of work (SOW), service design, and bills of materials (BOM).
3. Contribute to service delivery and engineering effectiveness by identifying issues, providing insights, recommending actions, and implementing directives.
4. Analyze and gather business requirements from large and complex client environments to create accurate technical solution proposals.
5. Coordinate assessment sub-streams such as business process, technical architecture, change management, governance, vendor assessment, and negotiations.
6. Manage project team activities, deliverables, and assessment plans, including risk monitoring.
7. Coordinate workshops and vendor interactions at a detailed level.
8. Support project coordination and stakeholder presentations.
9. Manage issue logs and escalate as necessary.

Skills / Experience Required

• 15+ years of experience.
• Experience in architecting complex ERP projects in large consumer companies.
• Deep understanding of SAP ACTIVATE methodology and best practices.
• Knowledge of all ERP project phases and deliverables.
• Architectural expertise in SAP and its ecosystem.
• TOGAF or equivalent certification preferred.
• Experience with SAP cloud deployments and migrations.
• Hands-on SAP experience in on-premise and cloud architectures.
• Ability to conduct meetings with technical, management, and executive stakeholders.
• Good understanding of SAP modules, integration options (PI/PO), BTP, CPI.
• Strong technical skills in SAP, including ABAP, Fiori, and business processes.

Other Requirements

• Fluent in English; Italian language skills are a plus.
• Willingness to travel at least once a month for 2-3 days to Parma, Italy.
• No restrictions to work in Europe as per project needs.
