Your future role:

We are looking for Senior DevOps engineers specializing in Cloud Native Services (AWS, GCP, Azure), Software Defined Networks, Operating Systems, and Infrastructure as Code. This role is within the Technology & Engineering unit of the newly formed Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations team in the Product Engineering division.

You will join the Engineering team, working closely with product and program managers, developers, and architects across SaaS platforms. You will be a key contributor to SAP Sovereign Cloud's product portfolio, solving complex challenges related to scale and security, utilizing your coding, algorithms, and large-scale system design skills. Your engagement with SAP Sovereign Cloud Operations, Platform, and Application engineering teams will help ensure product development aligns with security frameworks.

Responsibilities:

• Define and implement build, deployment, and monitoring standards for customers.
• Drive innovation and develop tooling for local cloud delivery and operations.
• Participate in Agile teams to automate deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management.
• Create scripts and templates for infrastructure provisioning and management.
• Collaborate with SAP Lob and local cloud teams to establish CI/CD systems.

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of cloud services such as AWS EC2, S3, GCP Compute Engine, Azure Compute, etc.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, ConcourseCI, ArgoCD, Azure Pipelines, CircleCI, GitLab.
• Certifications or knowledge of hyperscaler infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Infra automation skills using git, Ansible, Terraform.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux environments.
• Strong scripting skills in shell scripts, Ruby, Python, etc.
• Knowledge of Helm is an advantage.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, Groovy, Java, Rust.
• Analytical thinking and methodological skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally, decision-making skills, proactive attitude.
• Self-motivated, persistent, and able to work under pressure.
• Potential requirement for governmental security clearance due to the nature of work.

Work Experience:

• Minimum 6 years in automation, with experience in at least one programming language (Python, Groovy, Go, Shell).
• Minimum 6 years in a DevOps role.
