SAP S/4HANA Basis Senior Manager - Mars Global Services

Location: UK (London, Slough), US

Mars is undertaking a major global transformation, implementing SAP S/4HANA across our Petcare, Snacking, Food, and Corporate segments. This isn’t just a system upgrade—it’s a shift to simpler, more connected ways of working.

To support this, we’re hiring a Senior Manager to lead SAP Basis operations. This role will oversee the technical foundation of our SAP landscape, ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performing systems across a complex, multi-instance environment.

You’ll collaborate closely with our existing Basis team, system integrators, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure technical excellence and operational resilience.

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Lead all SAP Basis activities across the global S/4HANA landscape.
• Partner with the BAU Basis team to manage installations, configurations, and system operations (S/4, Fiori, Solution Manager, etc.).
• Oversee performance tuning, system refreshes, client copies, and transport management.
• Support cutovers, go-lives, and hypercare activities.
• Define and maintain high availability, disaster recovery, and backup protocols.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, integration, security, data, and testing teams to ensure system health and compliance.
• Stay informed on emerging technologies and help embed best practices.
• Maintain technical documentation and support integration with SAP Rise.
• Lead and develop a small team, and coordinate with external delivery partners.
• Foster inclusive team culture and drive shared goals through collaboration.

What are we looking for?

• 10+ years in SAP Basis roles with at least two full S/4HANA implementations.
• SAP Certified Technology Associate (SAP Basis or HANA).
• Strong knowledge of SAP architecture, performance optimisation, and landscape transformation.
• Experience in agile or hybrid delivery models and global deployment environments.
• Confident working across complex, multi-instance SAP landscapes.
• Hands-on with Fiori, SAP Gateway, and hybrid/cloud environments.
• Strong communicator and team player with a proactive, growth mindset.
• Comfortable working under pressure and navigating change with professionalism.
