Job summary

MAG (Airports Group) at Manchester Airport is seeking a SAP lead data analyst for a two-year fixed-term contract within the Finance Transformation Programme. You will help replace BW/BPC with SAP Datasphere and SAC, designing the data platform layer and building from scratch.

The role requires expertise in SAP Datasphere, BDC integration, SAC, and data governance to enable insights and analytics that drive business decisions.

Qualifications

• Exposure to SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) and its integration architecture.
• Greenfield platform design experience - building from scratch, not migrating.
• Ability to articulate data architecture clearly to Finance and business stakeholders.
• Familiarity with S/4HANA Finance data structures - Universal Journal, cost centre/profit centre.
• Experience in a RISE with SAP / clean core environment.

The role

As SAP lead data analyst you’ll join our Finance Transformation Programme as we replace our BW/BPC landscape with SAP Datasphere and Business Data Cloud (BDC) with SAC as the reporting and planning layer, as part of our S/4HANA transformation. This role is offered as a two-year fixed term contract, running from greenfield platform design in Explore phase through to post go-live stabilisation. You’ll form a two-person analytics team alongside our SAC/planning resource (transitioning from BW/BPC), your focus being the data platform layer. There is no BW migration; everything is built from scratch, making early design decisions critical.You must be proficient with SAP Datasphere; space design, data flows, replication flows, and semantic modelling. You\'ll also be charged with developing the standards, documentation, and approach to gathering data requirements. Whilst a big part of the role is about making sure we get requirements right and produce reports, you\'ll also be tasked with how we move from basic reporting delivery to drawing insights and running analytics to drive business intelligence and decision making

What will make you successful in the role?

• Exposure to SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) and its integration architecture
• SAP Datasphere experience - data flows, replication flows, semantic modelling
• Greenfield platform design experience - building from scratch, not migrating
• Ability to articulate data architecture clearly to Finance and business stakeholders
• Ability to review and challenge SI technical designs for long-term supportability
• Working knowledge of SAC as a consumption layer
• Good understanding of Data Governance and how to implement within projects
• Can design complex low-level design documentation for Data, BI and Cloud solutions
• Familiarity with S/4HANA Finance data structures - Universal Journal, cost centre/profit centre
• Experience in a RISE with SAP / clean core environment
• Knowledge of non-SAP data integration into Datasphere
• SAP certification in Datasphere or BW/4HANA
• Awareness of Joule and embedded AI capabilities within BDC
