SF Partners in Nottingham is seeking a hands-on Banking & Finance Officer on a temporary arrangement to cover year-end and day-to-day accounting tasks. The role involves banking activities, reconciliations and maintaining accurate records within a supportive finance team.

You will complete reconciliations, assist with month-end processes and investigate discrepancies, while working in a hybrid setup with two fixed office days per week. SAP experience is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Previous hands-on SAP experience is essential.
• Experience in a banking, finance operations or general accounting role.
• Confident completing bank reconciliations, journals and general ledger activity.
• Able to investigate discrepancies and follow issues through to resolution.
• Good Excel skills and confidence working with financial information.
• Organised, detail-focused and comfortable working to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Monitor cash balances and support daily banking activities.
• Process journals and assist with month-end activities.
• Review transactions and follow up on outstanding or unexplained items.
• Investigate payment issues and work with colleagues to resolve queries.
• Maintain accurate financial records and support audit requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and make day-to-day activities more efficient.
