A leading law firm in London is seeking a qualified Solicitor or Barrister with at least 5 years of experience in Sanctions and Financial Crime. The role involves direct client contact and hands-on responsibilities from day one, including advising on sanctions and participating in criminal investigations.
We are seeking solicitors with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in sanctions law for a new role with our London-based law firm client. Experience in Financial Crime is a plus. The role involves direct client contact from day one.
The ideal candidate will have experience representing organizations, corporates, and individuals, with strong technical knowledge of UK sanctions and export control regimes, as well as their interaction with foreign sanctions frameworks. You should be able to advise on trade and financial sanctions issues across different contexts, with familiarity with major non-UK sanctions systems, especially the EU and US.
In terms of Financial Crime, responsibilities include criminal investigations, attending search warrants and interviews under caution, strategic criminal defense planning, liaising with counsel and experts, and participating in criminal trials.
Applicants must be qualified as a Solicitor in England & Wales (or another Common Law jurisdiction). Dual qualifications or qualifications in an EU member state are advantageous.
