Job description

Summary:

Nijhuis Saur Industries is one of the UK's leading Water Hygiene and Treatment Companies, providing cooling tower engineering and environmental solutions across the UK.

We are seeking Sampling Technicians on an ad-hoc basis. The Sampling Technicians will report to the Project Manager and will be responsible for sampling wastewater treatment sites, bathing waters, and catchment rivers in accordance with company procedures. They will also deliver samples to laboratories and depots promptly.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Visit wastewater treatment sites and other sampling locations to collect samples as per the sampling schedule set by the Project Manager.
• Plan daily sampling routes to ensure cost-effective and timely sample collection.
• Collect samples following Company, South West Water, and Environment Agency procedures.
• Complete necessary paperwork, including sample sheets, calibration records, and site logs, as per Company procedures.
• Install and download temperature loggers, ensuring temperatures stay within specified ranges.
• Conduct sampling activities in compliance with company Quality, Environmental, and H&S policies.
• Transport samples to laboratories according to established procedures.
• Clean and maintain sampling equipment and portable instruments.
• Perform routine calibration checks on portable instruments as required.
• Assist with other field operational activities as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Ability to exercise initiative while keeping the Manager and team informed.
• Clear and concise communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
