Job summary

NWG (Northumbrian Water Group) is seeking a Sampler Technician to join our Water Sampling Operations, supporting the Suffolk region to deliver safe drinking water and protect the environment.

You will travel to customer sites, take water samples, perform chlorine measurements and other tests, and ensure compliance with DWI MCERTS and Private Water Supply regulations. A full UK manual driving licence and DBS clearance are required.

• Experience in sampling and analysis processes
• Good written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites across the Suffolk region to collect water samples
• Carry out chlorine measurements and other tests to ensure water quality
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with high-quality standards
• Support 365-day coverage and respond to sampling needs as required

Are you passionate about caring for the environment? We have an exciting opportunity to join our Water Sampling Operations team as a Sampler Technician, working with your colleagues to deliver safe drinking water for our customers, communities, and the environment.

At Essex and Suffolk Water, we take the quality of our water very seriously, it's our job to provide people with safe, clean drinking water. As a Sampler Technician, you play a key role in helping us achieve this.

Our Sampler Technicians travel across the Suffolk region, sampling and carrying out chlorine measurements and other tests to make sure we're meeting our high-quality standards.

Water is a 24/7, regional business, and our Sampler Technicians offer 365-day cover and enjoy being out and about, travelling to customer sites.

About You

If you are highly self-motivated, able to work to deadlines and have a flexible and positive 'can do' attitude, we want to hear from you.

You will understand Sampling and Analysis Regulations (DWI drinking water regulations, MCERTS and Private Water Supply) and have a good working knowledge of sampling processes and methods.

You will have good written and verbal communication skills along with strong attention to detail to manage the quality system.

You will be reliable and adaptable to changing and challenging situations. Ideally you will have previous sampling experience and have worked in a UKAS Laboratory accredited environment.

The successful candidate will need a Full UK Manual driving licence.

Please note this role will require a DBS to be completed prior to employment.

This role has also been defined as a safety or security critical role and as a condition of a formal offer of employment you'll be required to undergo a drug and alcohol test.

Prospective employees and agency workers in defined safety and security critical roles will be required to undertake a drug and alcohol test after the job offer has been made. This will be prior to or within four weeks of their start date.
