Job summary

Lextox, part of Eurofins, is recruiting a Sample Collector/Phlebotomist to join our Durham-area team on a permanent basis. You will perform professional blood, hair and DNA sample collection for clients in a variety of settings, with focus on accuracy and compliance.

Hours are 35 per week, Monday to Friday, with no weekend work. You must have a valid UK driving licence, at least 2 years of phlebotomy experience, and be prepared for DBS checks and an enhanced disclosure as part of employment.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and language skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in Phlebotomy (post qualification) is required.

Responsibilities

• Attend pre-booked appointments at locations in and around the Middlesbrough area (up to ~2 hours from home).
• Provide professional blood, hair, and DNA sample collection service.
• Maintain excellent relationships with clients and donors as the public face of Lextox.
• Implement the requirements of the Quality Management System and ISO17025 accreditation.
• Ensure safe, healthy, and low-risk collection environments.
• Provide statements of truth at point of collection.

Lextox are a UKAS accredited laboratory based in Cardiff, providing drug, alcohol and DNA testing services for family law cases and childcare proceedings.

We have a vacancy for a Sample Collector / Phlebotomist to join our Sample Collections team within Durham and surrounding areas, on a permanent basis.

Hours: 35hrs per week, Monday – Friday (no weekends).

Candidates must be professionally qualified Phlebotomists, have recent experience in various venepuncture techniques (predominately vacutainerand butterfly) and be able to collect samples in non-clinical settings.

The Role

• Maintain and develop excellent relationships with clients, donors as the public face of Lextox.
• Implement the requirements of the company Quality management System and help maintain ISO17025 accreditation.
• Ensure that all collections are undertaken in a safe, healthy and low risk environment and manner.
• Provide statements of truth at point of collection.

Desirable

• Experience in working within the NHS/Blood Service.
• Experience in collecting hair and DNA samples (in-house training is provided for this aspect of the role).

Assignments willgenerally bewithin a 2-hour radius of a collector's home address by car. Collections assignments willgenerally beat either a solicitor's office, local authorityofficeor donor's home;appropriate PPEwill be provided.

For this position, the role will involve the taking of blood samples, where Hepatitis B vaccination is required.

This role includes car allowance and an enhanced DBS check will also be an essential requirement for this role.
