The Role

Sales Associate- EMEA Global Markets Group (GMG)

The Team

The GMG Sales Director will be a member of a high growth sales team within the S&P Global Market Intelligence (MI) division.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to be part of a dedicated, revenue driven team responsible for client-facing activity including coordination of sales coverage to maximize cross‑selling opportunities.

The Impact

This role will require broad experience in financial markets, software/data and knowledge of capital creation. With "hunter" style, you will be expected to generate new business whilst managing complex relationships, and large deals. You will consult with prospects/customers about their capital formation process to construct solutions that will help them reach their business goals. Leveraging your relationships within the buy‑side / sell‑side / procurement space will be important.

You will be responsible for developing and managing accounts and opportunities for S&P's Capital Markets products in the European market.

Responsibilities
  • To drive sales of S&P's Sales & Trading and Capital Markets products and services
  • Manage the sales process and pipeline from lead generation to close
  • Quota carrying
  • Manage and farm current book of business, and develop new business within a territory via networking and new client engagement/prospecting
  • Forecast sales activity and revenue achievement and work to activity KPIs
  • Demonstrate S&P product offering and its value proposition in the market
  • Build relationships with decision makers in the financial markets
  • Work in collaboration with Account Management and Product Marketing
  • Reporting into ED of GMG Sales and Account Management EMEA; based in London
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years selling data and/or software to the following business areas: Fixed Income/Equity Capital Markets and Syndicate, Fixed Income/Equity Research Sales and Trading, and Corporate Access
  • An individual who will thrive on working with accounts where decision makers are business heads in capital markets, syndication, sales trading & research, technology and banking
  • Drive and determination to prospect for new accounts, not solely managing existing
  • Ability to demonstrate strong relationships with key business leaders in the above-mentioned business areas, not just with procurement or market data professionals

  • Strong understanding of the sales process and how to manage and report on opportunities from lead to close
  • A burning desire to prospect via networking and new client engagement
  • Must prefer a producer role
  • Superior negotiating skills – formal negotiating training a plus
  • Experienced selling multiple product solutions
  • Experience with selling desktop solutions or data sales to the buy‑side / sell‑side
  • Ability to work independently, but within a team concept
  • Strong CRM skills – preferably SalesForce
  • Willing to travel to multiple European Territories
