Job summary

Canary Wharf Group is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead the Vertus edit property sales at 3 & 15 West Lane, Canary Wharf Private Estate. You will develop and drive sales strategies across corporate travel, MICE and housing segments, and build strong client partnerships.

In this fast-paced hospitality setting you will lead negotiations, manage RFPs, represent the brand at events and grow market presence while ensuring exceptional service and revenue growth.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of business development experience within hospitality or related sector.
  • Proven track record in sales, client management and achieving revenue targets.
  • Experience handling RFPs in corporate travel and MICE sectors.

**JOB SUMMARY**We’re looking for an experienced Sales Manager to join our dynamic team at Vertus edit (3 & 15 West Lane) with 378 serviced apartments across two buildings in Canary Wharf’s Private Estate. You will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing our sales strategies across segments, managing relationships with key corporate partners, targeting groups and events, as well as representing the brand at events and trade shows. Annual Salary: £45,000 Closing Date: 30 September 2026**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES*** **Market Analysis:** Conducting thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential competitors within the Travel Trade, Consortia & Housing Sales industry.* **Relationship Building:** Establishing and nurturing relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to foster business growth and maintain a strong network.* **Sales Strategy:** Developing and implementing effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets, considering market dynamics and customer preferences for different segments.* **New Business Development:** Actively seeking and pursuing new business opportunities, partnerships, and collaborations to expand the company's network and create increased awareness of Vertus Edit within the industry.* **Client Management:** Managing relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction, and identifying upsell or cross-sell opportunities to maximize revenue.* **Reporting and Analysis:** Providing regular reports and analysis on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities to the General Manager and Revenue Manager for strategic decision-making.* **Brand Representation:** Serving as a brand ambassador, upholding the company's image and values in all interactions, engagements, trade shows and events within the industry.* **Contract Negotiation:** Leading negotiations for contracts and agreements, ensuring favorable terms for the company while maintaining positive client relationships.* **Adaptability:** Staying informed about industry changes, adjusting strategies accordingly, and being agile in response to shifting market conditions.* Very good knowledge of the corporate travel sector, including participating in RFPs, and ideally within the Canary Wharf area.* Lead the creation, development and execution of the MICE strategy, in-line with the wider commercial and marketing plans.* Proactively seek new business opportunities at all times, identifying target organisations and key decision makers in order to deliver growth in the MICE segments.**PERSON SPECIFICATION*** An honest and trustworthy individual with an exemplary track record.* The incumbent must have an appreciation of the importance of customer service and how this is applied in the context of Canary Wharf.* Excellent communication and customer service skills* Minimum of 3-5 years of business development experience within the hospitality sector.* A proven track record in business development, sales, or a related field, with a focus on the corporate travel or MICE sector.* In-depth understanding of the market, including trends, customer behaviour, and key competitors.* Strong networking and relationship-building skills to establish and maintain connections within the associations and corporate segment.* Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies, meet revenue targets, and drive business growth.* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.* Detail-oriented and highly organized with a strong work ethic.* Understanding of hospitality industry trends and best practices.* Strategic mindset with the ability to analyse market data, identify opportunities, and contribute to the development of effective business strategies.* Negotiation Skills: Proficient in negotiation techniques to secure favourable deals and contracts.* Client Management: Previous experience in managing client relationships, ensuring satisfaction, and identifying opportunities for additional business.* Previous experience applying to and managing RFPs in both corporate and MICE sectors.* Line management experience preferred.**HEALTH SAFETY AND WELFARE RESPONSIBILITIES**All staff are required to fulfil their legal duty to take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and others who may be affected by their acts and omissions, and to follow all guidance and instructions given in this respect.
