Helping UK Publishers Print Short-Run, Paperbacks & Sewn Hardbacks

ImprintDigital.com is a specialist book printing company based in the scenic countryside of Exeter, UK. We focus on short-run paperbacks and hardbacks, all of which are produced in-house with sewn binding as standard for all hardback books.

We’ve built a reputation for delivering exceptional quality and reliable service to publishers, print managers, and self-publishing authors across the UK.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Exeter, Devon. The Sales Executive will play a vital role in expanding our B2B client base, with a focus on the publishing and print management sectors.

You'll be responsible for identifying and reaching out to potential customers, nurturing inbound leads, and managing client relationships from enquiry to order. This is a consultative sales role, ideal for someone who understands the value of building trust and solving problems.

Key responsibilities:

  • Drive new B2B business by targeting publishers, production managers, and creative studios
  • Develop and manage key accounts, nurturing long-term relationships with a focus on repeat custom
  • Take ownership of the sales cycle – from outreach and quoting to negotiation and closing
  • Craft tailored proposals and pricing, working closely with our production team
  • Identify market trends and partnership opportunities
  • Represent Imprint Digital with confidence at trade shows, networking events, and industry discussions
  • Collaborate with leadership to refine our go-to-market approach and help shape the next phase of growth

Qualifications

  • Proven track record in B2B sales, ideally in print, publishing, creative services, or a quality-led production environment
  • Comfortable speaking to production managers, publishers, and marketing directors, with an ability to adapt language and pitch accordingly
  • Strong commercial instincts, you can spot a good lead, understand margin, and know when to push for volume vs value
  • Exceptional communicator and relationship builder, confident over email, phone, Zoom, or face-to-face
  • Adept at managing a sales pipeline, quoting accurately, and following up methodically using CRM or your own proven system
  • Naturally curious and proactive
  • A solid understanding of the print production process (or willingness to learn quickly)
  • Experience attending or working at industry trade shows is a plus
  • Based in or willing to commute to Exeter, with the flexibility to travel for client meetings or events if needed
