Area Sales Engineer - North England/Scotland

Home Based - North of England - Will Cover Scotland

The Area Sales Engineer will be a key part of the team and is required due to high levels of expansion. You will be the first point of contact for new and existing customers, creating strong and lasting business relationships. The Area Sales Engineer must be a focused candidate with a strategic mindset and the ability to bring in new business as well as actively developing current clients.

Area Sales Engineer - The Role:

• Preparing and delivering high-quality quality presentations
• Working closely with existing clients to anticipate changing needs and requirements, and being able to accurately advise on suitable options from a range of machinery
• Building and maintaining excellent communication with customers
• Attendance and participation in exhibitions and conferences
• Effective negotiating and closing orders in line with agreed monthly/annual sales targets
• Responding to and managing customer queries on both a technical and commercial level, maintaining good relationships with clients throughout
• Collaborating closely with the team to achieve company-wide success. Working to an established budget, through careful financial planning and record keeping

Area Sales Engineer - The Person:

• MUST have experience of selling high value machinery/equipment in a highly-pressurised environment
• An aptitude for clear communication — both verbal and written
• You MUST come from an engineering background to be able to sell the benefits of the machinery rather than just the features
• Any experience selling machine tools/CNC controlled machinery highly advantageous
• Any experience with the steel sector also highly advantageous

Your area will be the North of England and will also include Scotland. To be best placed to cover these areas, we are looking for a candidate with easy motorway reach within/around the following areas: Derby, Sheffield, Leeds, Doncaster, Manchester, Huddersfield, York, Blackburn, Lincoln, Warrington or Chester.
