Job Description

Datasite is a global leader in M&A technology, trusted by deal teams worldwide to manage due diligence, control sensitive information, and keep complex transactions moving from launch to close. Our core platform, Datasite Diligence, underpins some of the most important deals in the world by bringing structure, speed, and confidence to information‑intensive workflows. Building on this foundation, we are continuing to scale and evolve our platform by incorporating AI capabilities and broadening our offering through strategic acquisitions. At Datasite, you’ll be part of a growing team that plays a critical role in how transactions are executed worldwide.

Datasite is seeking a motivated and technically adept Sales Engineer to join our team in London (UK). In this client‑facing role, you will be the primary technical resource for our sales team and a trusted advisor to prospective clients, helping them understand how our SaaS solutions support their transaction workflows across both business and technical audiences. The ideal candidate is a compelling presenter, strong problem‑solver, and enjoys helping customers understand how technology supports real business needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to have a significant impact on our sales success and to grow your career with a global SaaS leader.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner with our Account Directors in a pre‑sales capacity to develop and execute effective sales strategies, acting as the key technical advisor and product advocate.

  • Deliver engaging and customised product demonstrations of the full Datasite platform, highlighting our suite of tools, including our emerging AI capabilities.

  • Lead technical discovery sessions with clients to understand their specific needs, challenges, and M&A workflows, and subsequently map those requirements to Datasite’s solutions.

  • Serve as a key driver of our product strategy by gathering client feedback and field insights on our AI/LLM roadmap, helpful to guide the future direction of our platform.

  • Manage and respond to the technical components of RFIs/RFPs, collaborating with internal teams to provide comprehensive and accurate information.

  • Respond to technical objections and questions in a timely and professional manner, ensuring a clear understanding of our platform's capabilities and security posture.

  • Stay current with industry trends, competitive landscape, and M&A best practices to provide informed recommendations and maintain your status as a subject matter expert.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business, Finance, Computer Science, or Information Technology.

  • 2-5 years of experience in a client‑facing technical role, such as a Consultant, Sales Engineer, Solutions Consultant, or Technical Account Manager, preferably within a SaaS environment.

  • A strong foundational understanding of cloud technologies, APIs, integrations, and enterprise security fundamentals.

  • A genuine passion for emerging technology - especially AI, LLMs, and automation - and the ability to translate them into practical business value.

  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with a proven ability to articulate complex technical concepts in a clear, concise, and relatable manner to a wide range of audiences.

  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a strategic, analytical mindset.

  • Willingness and ability to work in our office 4 days per week.

  • Willingness and ability to travel during sales cycles, often with minimal notice (<15%).

  • Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.

  • Preferred: Knowledge of M&A workflows, finance, or professional services is highly desirable.

  • Direct experience with virtual data rooms (VDRs) or other M&A technology solutions.

  • A proven track record of success in supporting complex sales cycles.

  • Demonstrated project management experience with a high level of attention to detail.
