Navigating the position: Sales Development Representative

As Sales Development Representative (SDR) will play a critical role in expanding our e-commerce business sales. This hybrid role involves B2C transaction-driven sales and B2B business development, focusing on companies that are do not yet require a SaaS-based solution. This role is responsible for identifying new sales opportunities, nurturing leads, and collaborating with internal marketing and sales teams to convert prospects into revenue-generating customers. The ideal candidate is a proactive, results-driven professional with a passion for digital commerce and integrated marketing strategies.

Your Voyage Ahead

Prospecting & Lead Generation

  • Identify and research potential B2B clients and high-intent B2C customers through online tools, past e-commerce data, and outbound activities.
  • Identify and reach out to potential B2C customers across multiple digital and social media platforms.
  • Research target accounts to understand their market position and potential needs.

Sales Outreach & Relationship Building

  • Initiate outbound calls, emails, and social media interactions to engage prospects and schedule meetings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, positioning the company as a trusted partner.

Market & Competitor Analysis

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market changes to refine outreach strategies.
  • Provide feedback to the marketing team to optimize messaging and campaign effectiveness

Marketing Communications Alignment

  • Collaborate with the MarComm team to develop and execute targeted campaigns that support lead generation and conversion.
  • Assist in the creative outreach campaigns to drive traffic and conversions on our e-commerce platform.
  • Leverage digital marketing tactics (email campaigns, social media outreach, content marketing) to drive engagement

Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to align lead generation strategies with promotional activities and product launches.
  • Respond to inbound inquiries and convert leads into customers
  • Provide feedback to the product and marketing teams based on customer interactions and insight.

Customer Retention & Risk Management

  • Monitor repeat customers, clients who credits are low, customer usage, customer impact, and satisfaction to ensure long-term repeatable business.
  • Address escalations, complaints, and potential churn risks proactively.

Success Metrics

  • Revenue growth through e-commerce sales.
  • Repeatable clients and high order volumes.
  • Identifying e-commerce clients who are ready to be moved to SaaS Learning Management solution
  • Achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly targets and KPIs.
  • Regularly report on progress, challenges.

Recommended To Bring On Board

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred)
  • maritime experience (this could be education, sass, etc)
  • Professional certifications in Ecomm, customer success, account management, or sales are a plus
  • Demonstrated success in lead generation and outbound sales.
  • Extensive experience in account management, B2C and B2B sales, customer success, or related roles within technology, e-commerce, SaaS, or service industries
  • Proficiency in digital marketing techniques, including email marketing, social media.
  • Knowledge of the maritime industry and experience in crewing, training, or QHSE departments
  • Self-starter mentality with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calling, email sequencing & social selling)
  • Proven track record of driving revenue through e-comms and leads
  • Expertise in client relationship management and developing long-term client partnerships
  • Ability to analyse client e-commerce data and develop strategic plans
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills
