Job summary

We Are TALA Limited is seeking a customer-facing Retail Assistant for a fixed-term position at our Bicester store. You will greet customers, offer styling advice, and process sales while delivering the TALA brand experience.

Responsibilities include maintaining store presentation, stock checks, and assisting with promotions. Excellent communication and a genuine passion for fashion and customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail environment, preferably fashion/activewear/wellness.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Natural problem-solver with proactive mindset.
• Strong visual merchandising instincts and attention to detail.
• Excellent multitasking skills in fast-paced settings.
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).

TALA has been on a rocket ship since its founding in 2019 by entrepreneur Grace Beverley. Built on largely organic social, today we are a digital-first, multichannel women’s activewear brand with a multifaceted growth and retention strategy.

Following a £5m fundraise from world-class institutional investors and growing global media attention, TALA is entering an exciting new phase of growth, including the opening of two stores in London.

Now, we’re taking TALA beyond London, and Bicester Village, you’re next.

Tasks

Day to day this looks like:

Customer Service & Sales

• Embody and communicate the TALA brand philosophy, values, and culture to both internal and external customers.
• Greet and assist customers, providing a friendly and engaging shopping experience.
• Offer product recommendations and styling advice based on customer preferences.
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns professionally.
• Process sales transactions using the store’s POS system.

Merchandising & Store Presentation

• Maintain a visually appealing store layout, ensuring products are well-displayed.
• Assist with stock replenishment and product organisation on shelves and racks.
• Follow brand guidelines for store displays and promotions.
• Keep fitting rooms clean and organised.

Stock Management & Operations

• Assist in receiving, unpacking, and organising new inventory.
• Conduct stock checks and monitor inventory levels.
• Report damaged or missing products to management.
• Follow loss prevention and security procedures to prevent theft.

Housekeeping & Maintenance

• Ensure the store remains clean and tidy at all times.
• Follow health and safety guidelines in the workplace.

Team Collaboration & Training

• Work as part of a team to meet sales targets and store goals.
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on brand trends and policies.

Requirements

About you:

• Experience in a retail environment, preferably in fashion, activewear, or wellness—but above all, a genuine passion for these areas is a must.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to connect effortlessly with customers and inspire your team.
• A natural problem-solver—proactive, quick to learn, and able to thrive both independently and as part of a dynamic team.
• Strong visual merchandising instincts, with a keen eye for detail to keep the store looking stylish and on-brand at all times.
• Excellent multitasking skills, balancing customer service, sales, and store operations seamlessly in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking) to ensure clear and engaging customer interactions.
• Passionate about building customer relationships, from discussing upcoming collections to gathering customer insights that foster long-term loyalty.
