Job summary

Monkhouse Schoolwear is seeking a part-time Sales Assistant to join our Tunbridge Wells/Chatham shop. You will be trained fully, supported by a buddy, and play a key role in serving customers and maintaining stock control. Expect a 14.5 hour week with potential extra hours during peak seasons.

You will handle till transactions, assist customers with sizes and uniforms, and keep the shop neat. Opportunities for growth and a friendly, inclusive environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Retail experience or customer service experience preferred.
• Able to handle cash till and payments accurately.
• Comfortable working in a busy shop environment.
• Willing to learn and adapt to training provided.

Responsibilities

• Be a key holder and assist customers with sizes and uniforms.
• Operate the cash till and handle payments.
• Keep the shop and stock room tidy, including cleaning tasks.
• Check deliveries and stock into the stock control system.
• Unpack stock and restock products on the shop floor.
• Answer customer queries over the phone.

Now let's take you through what you will be doing. We will give you full training on every job and buddy you up with an experienced colleague to support you through your first few weeks.

• You will be a key holder.


• Serving customers by ensuring they have the right sizes, colours, and uniforms required for their child.


• Working on the cash till, by taking payment and packaging customer purchases.


• Tidying up the shop and stock room, including hoovering and dusting.


• Checking deliveries and booking stock into our stock control system.


• Unpacking stock from deliveries and restocking products in the shop.


• Answering the telephone with customer queries.

Our location:

We are located in Tunbridge Wells with good public transport links.

Your working days and hours:

This is a part time position, 14.5 hours-a-week contract. Our working days are Monday to Saturday 9am to 4.30pm.

During our peak season, there is the option to uplift your hours and we do require some flexibility beyond your standard hours and days of work including Sundays.
