Smyths Toys Superstores in Barnsley Cortonwood is seeking a Sales Assistant for a temporary contract. You will deliver high levels of customer service, identify customer needs and work within a fast-paced team in a busy toy store.

The role includes store upkeep, shelving, price changes, tills and learning product details to assist customers. Flexibility to work across 7 days is required; retail experience is desirable though not essential.

About The Role

This is a temporary contract, with a rate of pay of £12.90 per hour for over 21 and £11.00 per hour for under 21.

Responsibilities

Provide a high level of customer service

Ascertain customers’ needs and wants

Work as part of a fast paced and dynamic team

Keep the store clean and tidy

Pack shelves and merchandise

Work delivery and complete price changes

Work on the tills

Learn about and keep up to date with our products in order to help customers

The Ideal Candidate

Retail experience in the following areas is highly desirable, but not essential:

• Nursery
• Software & Gaming
• Backdoor/Warehouse

Our stores are open 7 days a week so we need our Sales Assistants to be as flexible as possible.
