Job summary

Hotel Chocolat is seeking a Retail Supervisor to lead customer service and deliver an exceptional in-store experience across our UK stores. The role focuses on welcoming customers, understanding their needs, and upselling premium chocolates and gifts in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll receive full training, become a brand ambassador, and help maintain store standards while supporting deliveries and stock. Competitive hourly rates and staff benefits accompany your progression within the business.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and immerse them in the world of Hotel Chocolat
• Discover customers’ needs through friendly conversation
• Delight customers with product demonstrations and tastings, checking allergens
• Close sales and confidently recommend additional products like gift bags
• Thank customers and ensure they leave happy
• Process transactions, refunds and exchanges at the till
• Respond to customer feedback in a constructive way
• Support deliveries and stock management and keep delivery area tidy per health and safety guidelines
• Maintain the store and cafe areas to a high standard
• Prepare ice creams and snacks per guidelines and keep area clean, with upselling focus
• Support the store and team to drive success

Are you ready to join Hotel Chocolat’s exciting and ongoing journey as the UK’s favourite premium chocolate brand? This role is for a Retail Supervisor so while you don’t need retail experience to work here, some experience of holding responsibility for a store or hospitality setting would be hugely beneficial to the successful candidate. Full training will of course be given, we just need you to bring a commitment to being a true brand ambassador who is passionate, enthusiastic and customer focused. You’ll love sharing our products with our customers with a warm and personal touch, ensuring that an amazing customer experience is delivered through excellent product and brand knowledge.

What You’ll be doing:

• People are the reason you love retail! You’ll warmly welcome every customer and immerse them in the world of Hotel Chocolat.
• Discovering your customers’ needs and reason for their visit through friendly conversation.
• Delighting your customers through product demonstrations and tasting sessions, ensuring to check for allergens throughout your time with them.
• Closing the sale and confidently recommending additional products such as gift bags.
• Genuinely thanking your customer for shopping with us, ensuring they leave happy.
• Processing transactions, refunds and exchanges at the till.
• Responding to customer feedback.
• Working with your team to support with deliveries and stock management, keeping the delivery area is kept clear and tidy in line with our health and safety guidelines.
• Maintaining the appearance of the store and café areas to a high standard.
• You will be preparing ice creams and snacks according to our guidelines and processes whilst keeping the area immaculately clean. The customer experience is just as important, however given the pace of a café, you will focus on upselling to your customer.
• Support where you can to the success of your store and team.
