Job summary

Hotel Chocolat is looking for a friendly Sales Advisor in the UK to deliver an exceptional customer experience. You’ll welcome customers, explore their needs and share product knowledge to inspire purchases.

No prior retail experience is required; the role emphasizes enthusiasm, brand passion and customer service. You’ll be part of a team focused on delivering high standards in a dynamic store environment, including any café duties where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers warmly and immerse them in Hotel Chocolat.
• Discover customer needs through conversation.
• Demonstrate products and tasting sessions; check allergens.
• Close the sale and confidently upsell gift bags and other products.
• Thank customers and ensure a positive shopping experience.
• Process transactions, refunds and exchanges at the till.
• Respond to customer feedback and maintain store cleanliness and stock.
• Assist with deliveries and stock management; keep delivery area tidy.
• Prepare hot/cold drinks, ice creams and snacks if the store has a café, upsell in a fast-paced enviroment.
• Support store and team to drive success.

What You’ll be doing:

• People are the reason you love retail! You’ll warmly welcome every customer and immerse them in the world of Hotel Chocolat.
• Discovering your customers’ needs and reason for their visit through friendly conversation.
• Delighting your customers through product demonstrations and tasting sessions, ensuring to check for allergens throughout your time with them.
• Closing the sale and confidently recommending additional products such as gift bags.
• Genuinely thanking your customer for shopping with us, ensuring they leave happy.
• Processing transactions, refunds and exchanges at the till.
• Responding to customer feedback.
• Working with your team to support with deliveries and stock management, keeping the delivery area is kept clear and tidy in line with our health and safety guidelines.
• Maintaining the appearance of the store and café areas to a high standard.
• If your store has a café area, you will be preparing hot and cold drinks, ice creams and snacks according to our guidelines and processes whilst keeping the area immaculately clean. The customer experience is just as important, however given the pace of a café, you will focus on upselling to your customer.
• Support where you can to the success of your store and team.
